Mike Rooney is the director of IPC, with 30 years of experience in education. He is currently a deputy principal at Lynwood Primary School in Perth's southern suburbs.

The inspiration for the STAGEPAK system came about as the result of an incident with existing older style wooden stage boxes. Whilst transporting a trailer load of boxes to an off-site venue, several units slipped onto the road and were instantly turned into matchwood!

The shortcomings of the wooden boxes, especially their lack of portability and the sheer amount of cubic space required to pack them in transit and store them suddenly became glaringly apparent.

Mike has used this experience to prove that sometimes good things can come from adversity in his teachings at Lynwood. Ever the school teacher, Mike has informed and involved his students in all aspects of the STAGEPAK development process from day one.
